Meghan's BiographyA native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Meghan has been surrounded and influenced by music all of her life. At the age of four, Meghan's mother enrolled her in Suzuki violin at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department and after 6 years of study, she decided to make performing and teaching violin her career. In May of 2011, Meghan graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor of music degree in violin performance from the University of Memphis. Throughout over twenty years of study, Meghan has worked with accomplished performers and teachers such as, Soh-Hyun Park Altino, Midori Goto, Alex Kerr, Tessa Lark, Raye Pankratz, Larry Shapiro, Gabriel Pegis, Paul Kanter, Stephen Clapp, as well as members of the Míro, Biava, Ceruti, Blair, Amernet and LaSalle string quartets. Meghan uses her talents to perform at weddings, special events, and with the Hendricks Symphony Orchestra on occasion. She is also a lifetime member of Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society. More recently, Meghan graduated with a Masters of Music in violin performance degree from Butler University. Throughout the last 18 years, Meghan has performed at over 50 weddings or special events. Additionally, Meghan is the director and violin instructor of Appassionato Strings. Located in Temple Terrace, FL, Appassionato Strings is the fulfillment of Meghan's life long dream to share the gift of music. Meghan has also had the pleasure of serving on the violin faculty for both Allegro Music Classes and Midwest School of Music. During her free time, Meghan enjoys scrapbooking, spending time with her dog Xan, practicing yoga and teaching Bible class. She currently resides in Temple Terrace, FL with her husband, Matthew. |
